DESCRIPTION:Finding Fatherhood is a five-session therapeutic support and education group for expectant dads and fathers of children under 12 months of age. The group recognizes the process of becoming a father as an existential shift with the capacity to forge or fray any man. For men with an interest in leveraging the birth of a child to grow into a stronger\, more mindful father\, partner\, and human\, this group is an ideal fit. It’s structured to support the journey of becoming a new or better father in a setting that is compassionate\, informative\, and practical. \nParticipants Will Gain: \n– Peer Support: Connect with other new fathers navigating similar challenges.\n– Essential Knowledge: Learn about forming secure\, emotionally supportive relationships with their child.\n– Partner Support Skills: Strengthen relational skills to better support their partner’s journey into parenthood.\n– Self-Care Tools: Learn self-regulation techniques and strategies to handle stress.\n– Answers to Pressing Questions: Open space for questions about the fatherhood experience. \nDetails \n– Format: Five Tuesday evening sessions\n– Dates: November 12th\, 19th\, (No session Thanksgiving week)\, December 3rd\, 10th\, and 17th\n– Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM\n– Led by: Erik Wardell\, LPCC\n– Location: Mountain Town Mental Health\, 1941 Dolores Way\, Carbondale\, CO 81623\n– Cost: $100 for the series\, with a commitment to attend at least four out of five sessions.\n– Group Size: Limited to 6 participants to ensure a personalized experience.\n– Application Deadline: November 8th – early registration is highly encouraged!
