SUMMARY:The ReMemberers: The Lindworm featuring John DeKadt | Part Theatre Part Concert Part Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The ReMemberers: The Lindworm featuring John DeKadt\nThursday\, October 9th | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | True Nature Kiva\nTrue Nature Healing Arts\n100 North Third Street Carbondale\, CO \nEarly Bird $30\nFull Price $45 \nA mythic “prayer-formance” weaving story\, song & ritual—The Lindworm awakens ancient memory through music\, myth & wild feminine power. \nVIEW TRAILER & REGISTER NOW through our ticketing page! \nThe ReMemberers are a multidisciplinary performance collective weaving ritual storytelling\, sacred song\, and live instrumentation into a prismatic experience of traditional myth and memory. Part theatre\, part concert\, part ceremony\, their gatherings awaken ancient stories from folkloric and mystical traditions\, carried by music that is both ancestral and original. \nTheir latest offering\, The Lindworm\, draws from an old Scandinavian tale—a myth of transformation\, reconciliation\, and the quiet power of the wild feminine. At its center is a serpent born of secrecy and longing\, whose appearance unsettles a kingdom. It is not through force\, but through the deep instincts of a fearless shepherdess\, that the healing begins. This is a story not just told\, but felt—a mirror to the inner work of shedding what no longer serves and reclaiming what was once forgotten. \nFeaturing the numinous voice of Annie Southard\, the global instrumentation of Alex Harvey\, and the rhythmic storytelling of John de Kadt\, The ReMemberers offer a space of immersive listening. For many\, their performances unfold like a meditation—drawing the listener into stillness\, memory\, and quiet revelation. The result is less a show than a ceremony – the artists often call it “prayer-formance”: a shared experience that touches the personal\, ancestral\, and collective all at once. \nThe Lindworm is an invitation to soften\, to receive\, and to remember. Within the container of rhythm\, story\, and song\, a space opens—for resonance\, reflection\, and renewal. \nThe ReMemberers: \nJohn de Kadt | An internationally acclaimed percussionist and storyteller whose work has captivated audiences across Europe\, Asia\, and North America. A master of global rhythms and spoken word\, John has performed alongside legendary artists such as Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead\, kirtan luminaries Krishna Das and Jai Uttal\, yoga pioneer Shiva Rea\, and devotional song maestro Gaura Vani. His artistry has earned him over 100 million streams across 194 countries and a global reputation as a transformative performer. \nJohn brings music and traditional storytelling into an immersive weave that\, while time-honored as the hills\, is extremely rare nowadays. Inspired by his singular mentorship under the legendary mythologist Robert Bly and later collaborations with master storyteller Martin Shaw\, John has channeled his ritualized myth-spinning to an intensity that commands attention on the world stage. He has performed his traditional drum stories at leading institutions including the Omega Institute\, Kripalu Center\, The Open Center\, the Great Mother Conference\, Yoga Mela in Sweden\, the Bali Spirit Festival in Indonesia\, and Bhakti Fest in the United States. \nAlex Harvey | A filmmaker\, editor\, writer\, musician theatre director and folklorist – Alex has spent thirty years pushing the boundaries of how audiences experience storytelling. \nAlex created\, produced\, and directed the feature film Walden: Life in the Woods\, starring Academy Award nominee Demián Bichir. The film screened at festivals including Whistler\, Oaxaca\, Denver\, and River Run before its release on Prime in 2019. His pandemic-themed sci-fi feature\, space//space\, premiered at Anthology Film Archives in 2023. Alex also wrote and directed The Unsilent Picture\, a black-and-white silent film starring Bill Irwin\, presented with live orchestral and foley performances as the centerpiece of Horseman’s Hollow Festival in 2018 and 2019. Alex co-directed and produced I Am A Seagull\, a hybrid film by the Lake Lucille Chekhov Project\, which premiered at The Public Theatre’s Under the Radar Festival and toured globally. He apprenticed under Allen Coulter on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and has presented video art projects like SONNET23 at Festival Cine Futuro in Brazil. HE also Edited feature docs\, The Last Ecstatic Days and In Case We Never Meet Again. \nAn accomplished musician & composer\, Alex co – composed the live score for Buster Keaton’s THE BALLOONATIC for The Public Theater’s 2010 Under the Radar Festival\, as well as music for the 2016 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning Documentary\, WEINER. He has worked as a producer on two recently released albums\, STEAMBOAT POP and ASTROV’S LOUNGE LIVE AT JOES PUB . Alex led the popular traditional swing band\, The 5000 Jazz Assasins and was the mandolinist for Michael Cerveris’ band Loose Cattle. He is currently touring with three music projects: the Brazilian duo ELEFANTES DISTANTES\, the Indigenous storytelling collective THE RE-MEMBERERS and his sea shanty and ballad duo SHINBONE ALLEY. \nHe is also a Conscious Dying Ceremonialist and end of life doula. \nAnnie Southard | A singer-songwriter\, voice therapist\, and ceremonialist. She is the head of sound healing modalities at Miraval Berkshires – a world renowned wellness destination retreat. With certifications in sound healing and voice therapy she has over 20 years of experience working with individuals through various transformational processes.
