SUMMARY:Concentric Recovery Monthly Meetings
DESCRIPTION:Community Offering | Please register online for this in person event. \nJoin us\, in community\, every third Tuesday at True Nature in Carbondale\, as we combine physical practice with prompt-based discussion and connection around the central questions of addiction and recovery\, with a focus on its social and spiritual dimensions. \nWhat if addiction were a call? An opportunity? An open doorway through which we could pass into a deeper and more participatory version of our lives? \nFrom screens\, to substances\, to work\, to sex- there is no shortage of opportunities to tune out of that which troubles us into a world of temporary ease and distraction. For many of us\, the very things that help us avoid pain become problems of their own. This is the basic cycle of addiction\, and it is pervasive in the world today. \nNo prior experience necessary. All bodies and levels are welcome.* \nConcentric Recovery meetings are for people of all ages who:\nExperience mild to moderate addiction(s)* (This program is not a great fit for those experiencing severe addiction)**\nAre affected by addiction in the life of someone close to them\nAre willing to learn more about addiction and recovery\nAre willing to explore new tools and methods for moving through the negative effects of addiction\nAre curious about the social and spiritual dimensions of addiction \n*Addiction is a chronic condition characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli (such as substances or behaviors) despite adverse consequences.\n**Severe addiction is characterized by continuing behavior despite serious physical\, psychological\, social\, and/or legal repercussions. \nDavis Cowles is the Program Lead and head facilitator for Concentric Recovery. He teaches yoga and breathwork for people in recovery\, and is walking through the doorway of addiction himself. Learn more about Davis at our ticketing/RSVP page. \nThe Concentric Recovery program offering is an educational initiative of the Connection is the Medicine Foundation. SUMMARY:Breathing in Recovery: Reclaiming Wholeness Through Breath and Community
DESCRIPTION:Breathing in Recovery: Reclaiming Wholeness Through Breath and Community \nSunday\, July 20th | 2:30pm – 5:30pm | True Nature Kiva\nEarly Bird $30 through July 13th\nFull Price $45\nNeed based access rate also available \nBreathing in Recovery is a mini-retreat for anyone seeking support around addiction\, whether you’re in recovery yourself\, feeling caught in a cycle\, or carrying the weight of someone else’s struggle. We’ll explore addiction not as a flaw to be fixed\, but as a signal from the body—a call to deeper connection. \nREGISTER NOW \nTogether\, we will: \nLearn how addiction relates to the nervous system through the lens of Polyvagal Theory \nPractice breathing and movement tools to build resilience \nGather in community to reduce isolation and shame \nParticipate in a powerful ceremonial breathwork session \nLeave with a deeper sense of our own inner resources \nThis event is inclusive\, trauma-aware\, and open to all adults (18+). No experience with breathwork or recovery spaces is required—just your presence and willingness to explore. \nMEET YOUR HOST \nDavis Cowles is a breath coach\, yoga teacher\, and men’s work facilitator who walks the path of healing with both personal reverence and professional commitment. He is the founder of Moon & Back\, a community-centric offering rooted in the belief that living well is a shared endeavor—one we arrive at through authentic embodiment and connection to the natural world. \nDavis’s journey into nervous system health and somatic work is shaped by a lifetime of proximity to addiction and recovery\, both in his family and his own experience. That history led him to the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model\, where he trained in trauma-informed care specifically for addiction\, and to a wider synthesis of modalities that support sustainable transformation. His work integrates yoga\, breathwork\, and nervous system education—not just as techniques\, but as invitations to come home to ourselves. \nBefore coaching\, Davis worked in science\, education\, and outdoor leadership. He holds a degree in Coastal Environmental Science with a minor in Spanish from Louisiana State University\, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Ogden Honors College. His early professional years included teaching high school biology and Spanish\, guiding wilderness trips\, and facilitating experiential education. A profound curiosity has always guided his path—across ecosystems\, languages\, and inner landscapes. \nToday\, Davis supports individuals and groups through coaching\, breathwork\, and somatic practice. He creates spaces where people can gather sincerely\, honor their stories\, and return to the Earth that holds us all. \nLearn more at mnbcoach.com \nREGISTER NOW through our ticketing page – https://www.truenaturehealingarts.com/events-workshops/2025/7/1/jyuf04a6jrza3y49snp43c5ledk982

SUMMARY:Sound Journey with Dr. Zachary + Krista Cashin
DESCRIPTION:Sound Journey with Dr. Zachary + Krista Cashin\nThursday\, July 24th\, 2025 | 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM\nEarly Bird $45 through July 9th\nFull Price $55 \nPlease register through our ticketing page. \nWhat to Bring: Comfortable clothing\, an extra mat\, pillow or blanket\, and anything to support your comfort during the journey. We will provide one yoga mat\, blanket and bolster for each participant. You may want to bring extra for your own comfort level. \nThe Science of Sound Healing: Sound baths are more than a spiritual experience—they are scientifically proven to support well-being. Vibrational frequencies from instruments like gongs and chimes stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system\, reducing stress hormones like cortisol and promoting deep relaxation. Studies show sound therapy can lower heart rate\, blood pressure\, and feelings of anxiety while enhancing focus and emotional balance. The harmonics and overtones resonate at cellular levels\, aiding in physical healing and fostering a sense of inner peace and connection. \nThe Healing Power of Sacred Sound: Sacred sound is a universal spiritual language found across cultures and traditions. It resonates deeply within all beings\, offering profound healing\, balance\, and rejuvenation. This sound journey combines gongs and other healing instruments to create a vibrational experience rooted in Buddhist teachings and enhanced by bio-energetics and quantum science. Participants are bathed in rhythms\, harmonics\, and tonalities that promote emotional balance\, cellular renewal\, and spiritual awakening. \nKrista Cashin will enhance the evening with Healing Touch Therapy\, a gentle practice inducing deep calm and relaxation. Through light touch on the shoulders\, face\, and neck\, with optional essential oils\, Krista’s care supports your transformation. Krista Joy Cashin is a registered nurse who has over 30 years of nursing experience. She became interested in holistic nursing while working in the intensive care nursery as she became aware of the many facets of health. She received her certification in holistic nutrition at the Nutrition Therapy Institute as well as certificates in Reiki\, Healing Touch\, and Energy Medicine. \nDr. Zachary Cashin has been practicing chiropractic and holistic healing methodologies for over 30 years. He currently uses Tibetan singing bowls\, tuning forks and essential oils in his chiropractic practice to accelerate deeper and more subtle levels of healing integration and transformation. \nThis programming is brought to you through the Connection is the Medicine Foundation\, a non-profit foundation dedicated to co-creating a world where individuals and communities thrive from a sense of inspiration\, connection\, and self-discovery. SUMMARY:Self-Realization Fellowship | Monthly Community Meditation
DESCRIPTION:MONTHLY SUNDAY MORNING MEDITATION \nAll are welcome to attend the monthly SRF Community Meditation offering\, based on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. \nMeetings are held on the first Sunday of each month in the Meditation Room on the second floor of True Nature. This is a donation based offering. \nArrival Time: 9:00 a.m. (to settle in)\nService Begins Promptly: 9:15 a.m.\nThrough the steady practice of yoga meditation\, it is possible to experience a deepening sense of peace\, love\, compassion\, and joy. As inner transformation unfolds\, its positive influence naturally extends outward—first to family and community\, and eventually to the world at large. \n“Reform yourself\, and you will reform thousands.” — Paramahansa Yogananda \n“You realize that all along there was something tremendous within you and you did not know it.”\n– Paramahansa Yogananda\, author of Autobiography of a Yogi \nParamahansa Yogananda (1893–1952) is widely recognized as one of the most influential spiritual figures of the 20th century and has been hailed as the “Father of Yoga in the West.” Born in India\, he came to the United States in 1920\, where he spent more than 30 years teaching India’s ancient science of meditation and the art of balanced living. \nHis many books have introduced millions to the universal truths underlying the world’s spiritual traditions. The award-winning documentary Awake: The Life of Yogananda was released in 2014 and continues to inspire audiences around the world. \nYogananda’s legacy continues through the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF)\, the organization he founded in 1920 to disseminate the teachings of Kriya Yoga. Through its global outreach\, SRF aims to awaken a deeper understanding of the harmony underlying all true religions and to foster a greater expression of divine love—the love that unites all people in their oneness with God. \nParamahansa Yogananda welcomed seekers of every faith. The benefits of the scientific methods of yoga he taught do not depend on belief\, but arise from direct personal experience of the Divine. \nSuggested Reading:\nAutobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda \nTo Learn More:\nExplore Yogananda’s teachings\, Kriya Yoga\, and the complete SRF path at yogananda.org \nhttps://www.truenaturehealingarts.com/events-workshops
