MAKING GOOD CONNECTIONS

Why Come?

People need 1:1 connections, yet it is hard to find good ones.
We want a local community outside of the house, but we’re busy with work and home. We’re active and yet we spend too much time alone. something is missing. But what?

Our May series is designed to answer “what’s missing” and fill the void with the one true thing that works – connection and community. Personal, meaningful, local – knowing people is what helps us feel less anxious and lonely, more alive and cheery.

Who Comes?

Join us if you enjoy non-superficial conversations, on personal and relevant topics, in a safe space for idea exchange. Your take-away will be personal – a roster of new names and local faces. Meeting in community isn’t therapy, but it is therapeutic!

Here’s How it Works

Each meeting has a simple theme and activity to think about, talk about, and get to know each other. We
meet in small groups to listen, exchange ideas, and share a laugh or two. We focus on interests and concerns, not politics.

We invite you to just be yourself, be curious, and find common ground. This is how we learn and this is how we roll.

Take-Aways

> Meet people outside your usual social circles. Befriend your curiosity.

> Learn to get past the superficial stage in conversations. Everyone has a story.

> Encounter new names and faces. Turn strangers into friends.

> Become a friend. Be part of a supportive network and lift people up.

A New Kind of Social is hosted by Adelaide Waters, founder of Women’s Forum in partnership with Aspen Strong. Welcoming newcomers and old-timers, all backgrounds and types.
