I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a licensed addiction counselor (LAC), and am trained in trauma processing (PTSD) using EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing). I have a master’s degree in psychology with 22 years of counseling/psychotherapy experience serving both adults and adolescents. Although, not currently providing offender treatment, I am also an approved provider for the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board with over 20 years of experience treating relationship issues.
I provide in-person and online individual therapy using a CBT, solution-focused, trauma-focused, and client-centered approach…. meaning I am a safe and supportive sounding board to help you make connections between your mind, body, and emotions… and it’s all about you. I tailor my approach to your individual needs and personality. My goal is to provide a safe space to process concerns and provide skills, education, and renewed hope. Taking the first step to better yourself is often the hardest. What you will discover through therapy is a powerful perspective to understand your past in order to better manage your future.
I offer a holistic (whole-person) approach as symptoms may not only manifest as psychological problems, but also as medical and/or interpersonal challenges. Typically, humans seek support after problems become unmanageable or unbearable and everyone prefers to handle their issues alone to prevent being judged or labeled. During therapy, we will also explore life experiences that cause or have caused pain. Unresolved issues impact school and work performance, damage relationships, interfere with healthy parenting, hinder financial stability, and even interfere with our daily commute. Unresolved or ongoing issues can impede attention, increase conflict, and disrupt sleep. Energy, mood, diet, and especially substance use are all impacted.
I work with individuals, couples, families…adults and adolescents.
