Welcome! My name is Kat Romero and I am a Clinical Social Worker in the Roaring Fork Valley. I am 100% Honduran and have been privileged to be in a role in which I can bridge services to serve the latin community. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish. I have been in practice for 4 years working with children, adolescents and their caregivers. In the past 3 years, I have been a school based therapist through Aspen Hope Center. Before my time there, I worked for a community mental health facility providing therapy to Elementary-High school age students in the Topeka, Kansas area. I am passionate about providing services in Spanish and challenge the stigma around mental health within the latin community.
In my practice, I integrate a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to provide a holistic and client-centered experience such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered. My lens focus on how trauma affects our brain mechanics and physical body, all the systems that play a roll in our lives, and how attachments can affect our relationships. I aim to offer a therapeutic experience that is compassionate, inclusive, and tailored to the unique needs of each client. My goal is to support clients in their journey toward healing, growth, and living a life aligned with their values.
